Aged Care.

ULTRA being concerned for active ageing is taking up different programmes for the aged in addition to welfare and development program for different categories of people. The programmes include health care, day care, helpline, assistance to destitute for food and clothing, counseling and allied activities.

  • Home for the Senior Citizens: ULTRA has established two Home for the Aged for care of the destitute Senior Citizens. Out of two Homes, One is functioning At- Hatabasta (Rajsunakhala) Post- Bankoi, Dist- Khordha from December 1998 and the other is running At- Sagarguan, Dist- Khordha on conversion from the Day Care Centre At- Jaridapa, Po- Sagarguan, Dist- Khordha since 1st April 2019. These Senior Citizen Homes are running with financial assistance from the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, New Delhi with capacity of 25 homeless aged in each Home with the objective to improve their life by providing basic amenities like Shelter, Food, Medical Care and Entertainment opportunities. The inmates are being provided with free accommodation with the provision of the free Fooding, Clothing, Medical Care, Recreational facilities etc. These units cater to the need of the aged who are neglected and thrown out by the family members to the mercy of Society.

  • Day Care Centre for the Aged: ULTRA has setup with financial assistance from the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, New Delhi a Day Care Center for the Aged at Jaripada from 1998 with support capacity of 50 destitute aged persons with the objective to provide day care, health care, entertainment opportunity, companion ship, spiritual and religious programmes. The benificiaries are provided nutrition suppliments, medical care in the center eminent persons invited once in each month to talk about religious and spiritual matters. Newspapers, different magazines, puran books, indoor play equipments have made available for their entertainment. The center has been attained by more aged persons than the sanction capacity for which ULTRA has proposed to move for extension of the center to minimum capacity of 100 inmates.

  • Mobile Medicare Unit for the Aged: ULTRA is running a mobile medicare unit for the aged in Bolagarh Block Khurda District from 1998 with financial assistance from the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, New Delhi. The unit moves through out the Block with a team comprising of doctors & support staff to arrange camp for health checkup & free distribution of medicine. During the year under report the unit has provided treatment & guidance to 543 aged people increasing cumulative figure to 4812 aged people.

  • International Day for the Elderly: During the year under report ULTRA has obseved International Day for the elderly on 1st October 1012 with the objective to honour the senior cityzens for their dedication in building up the society. On the occasion of International Day for the Elderly special programmes of health camps, awareness, entertainment & allied activities were undertaken. Some of the older persons having outstanding achievments in their life have been honoured in the function.
