Livelihood Programme.

  1. Self-Employment Scheme.

    ULTRA is managing a self-employment unit where about 50 women are actively involved for Dress making, preparing Phenyl, chalk, incense sticks and coir mat at Sagargoan village of Khordha district. All required machineries and working capitals are provided by ULTRA and the volunteers are engaged to maintain accounts and marketing of products. In the process all beneficiaries are earning about Rs.3000/- per month in average. ULTRA is also planning to avail financial grants from different ministries for expansion of this type of programme where more than 150 poor women may be accommodated for their daily earnings. The working ladies have also formed SHGs and the members are contributing Rs.50/- p.m. and they are availing loan at minimum interest to meet their urgencies.

  2. Livelihood through Food Processing.

    About 50 poor women of Sagargoan village have come together under ULTRA for preparing Jam, Jelly, Pickles and Chhatua in one working shed. Every day they are reporting at 9.30 A.M. and working up to 5.30 P.M. for preparation of above products. ULTRA volunteers are also taking keen interest to collect different type of fruits and other raw materials in different seasons and storing in nearby cold-storage to feed the yearly demand. Women interested to work in ULTRA food processing Unit are given three months regular training to make them fit for engagement. Almost all women are earning nearly Rs.2500/- pm in average and they are completely satisfied. Experienced Instructors and volunteers are engaged for supervision of day to day work and marketing of products.
